guard your moments with God.

have you ever realised that when you pick up your Bible to read, or close your eyes ready to pray…suddenly, you feel so sleepy. Or you get a call, an sms? that is no coincidence. So, guard your moments with God.

Sometimes your calling, comes in dreams
Sometimes in comes in the Spirit’s breeze,
You reach for the deepest hope in me,
And call out for the things of eternity.

But I’m a man, of dust and stains,
You move in me, so I can say,

[Chorus:]
Here I am, Lord send me,
All of my life, I make an offering,
Here I am, Lord send me,
Somehow my story, Is a part of your plan,
Here I am

When setbacks and failures, and upset plans,
Test my faith and leave me with empty hands,
Are you not the closest when it’s hardest to stand?
I know that you will finish what you began.

These broken parts you redeem,
Become the song, that I can sing

Here I am, Lord send me,
All of my life, I make an offering,
Here I am, Lord send me,
Somehow my story, Is a part of your plan,
Here I am

Overwhelmed by the thought of my weakness,
And the fear that I’ll fail you in the end,
In this mess, I’m just one of the pieces,
I can’t put this together but you can.

Here I am, Lord send me,
I wanna live my life as an offering
Here I am, Lord send me,
Somehow my story, Is part of your plan,
Here I am

Here I am, all my life an offering to you, to you
Somehow my story, Is a part of your plan,
Here I am

We’re not here by accident

And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, that they should seek God, in the hope that they might feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us, for ‘In him we live and move and have our being’;

behind the songs of John Waller…

When a friend suggested John write a song about waiting on God, the idea just clicked. “Everyone can relate to the pain of waiting on God,” John says. “I wanted to pose the question, ‘What do you do when you are waiting on God?’ The answer is, you continue to be faithful where you are. You continue to serve and worship while you are waiting. I wrote “While I’m Waiting” in about ten minutes. I never dreamed it might end up in a movie.”

"The important thing to remember while we are waiting on God is to not just wait, but to actively wait," John declares. "Serve, worship, and be faithful with what you have, where you are…even while you wait."

John admits his rollicking declaration of faith, “Faith Is Living,” is his favorite song on the project, because it is so close to where he is living today. “There is a line in the song that says, ‘You’ve never lived until you’ve lived by faith,’ and it is so true. I’m still learning to live by faith, and it can be challenging, but it is also incredibly exciting.”

"Cling to the Call" is another song that was birthed through a combination of experience and revelation. John wrote the song as he was preparing to move his family half way across the country. "We had no place to live," John recalls. "We didn’t know what we were going to do when we got there. We didn’t know how we were going to get the money to move. But the revelation in my songs has always preceded where I am in life. We knew we were called to do it, so all we could do was cling to that call. Some people think that means clinging to a particular task, but tasks change. The calling is to cling to Him.

while i’m waiting.. I will serve You.

now it makes more sense

I’ve always wondered about those prayer verses which God promised to give you anything if you asked it in His name and so on…

Chuck Smith in his commentary says:

John said “if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us” (1John 5:14). And if He hears us then we have received the petitions that we have asked of Him. You say, “Oh, but there are some beautiful promises”. “If you ask any thing in my name, that will I do that the Father may be glorified in the Son” (John 14:13). Henceforth, you’ve asked nothing in my name. Ask, that you might receive, “that your joy might be full” (John 15:11). “And whatsoever things you desire when you pray, believe that you receive them and ye shall have them” (Mark 11:24). Whatsover things! Any thing! Whatsoever things! Pretty wide open, isn’t it?

Let me ask you, who was Jesus talking to when he said that? Was he talking to the multitudes? Go back and look. The multitudes weren’t around at all when he said that. Jesus was talking at that time to a close-knit little group that were called his disciples. But what did it take to be his disciple? He said, “if any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, take up his cross and follow me” (Matthew 16:24).

So stamp that over, all of those whatsoever things, and all things in all. Stamp that over the top. Because he’s only talking to those persons who have already denied them self and are taking up their cross and following Him. They’ve already come to the cross in their own life. They’re not looking for their own glory or for their own welfare or for their own benefit. They’re looking now only to glorify Jesus Christ. They’ve made that total kind of commitment of themselves and their lives to him. And for that person, “whatsoever things ye desire,” because the only things you’re going to desire are those things that are pleasing to God and those things that God is wanting to do. So you can’t just take these “all things” and “whatsoever things” and “if you ask anything”. You can’t take those and make them blanket promises to just a multitude of people. Those are special promises to a specialized group.

Holy is the Lord

Wake up little Isaac
And rub your tired eyes
Go and kiss your mama
Well be gone a little while
Come and walk beside me
Come and hold your papas hand
I go to make an altar
And to offer up my lamb

I waited on the Lord
And in a waking dream He came
Riding on a wind across the sand
He spoke my name
Here I am, I whispered
And I waited in the dark
The answer was a sword
That came down hard upon my heart

Chorus:
Holy is the Lord
Holy is the Lord
And the Lord I will obey
Lord, help me I dont know the way

So take me to the mountain
I will follow where You lead
There Ill lay the body
Of the boy You gave to me
And even though You take him
Still I ever will obey
But Maker of this mountain,

please Make another way

what if we believed…and live like we believed…

sometimes, i wonder how different things would be if we believed:

"Ask and it will be given you, seek and you will find, knock and it will be opened to you.."

or “Whatsoever you ask in my name believing, you shall receive”

or “what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God”

or “this book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall mediate on it day and night…and then you will have good success.”

very often i tend to take this verses for granted. familiarity breeds contempt. and when i read these verses, my eyes tend to glaze over it, not giving any thought to the meaning behind it and what it would truly mean if i believed it and put it into practice in my life. What if…i took God at His Word and started living like i really believe what He said He would do, He would do..

Lord, help.

CHINA.

I would love to share more about my china trip in the coming few posts, but first I want to introduce a song that set the tone for my time in China. I was at the GuangZhou airport waiting for my plane when I saw that it had been delayed by three hours. Sitting there, I asked the Lord what He would have me to do in this time. As I listened to songs on ter’s itouch, I came across this song which moved my heart deeply.

Send Me

Your power is my power now.

Your love is my love too.

My heart is Your heart beating

My life is over to you

I dare to pray this prayer, grant me this:

//

I wanna see what You see

I wanna feel what You feel

I wanna carry Your passion for this World

Make my life deeper

Make my heart stronger

I will go for You, send me.

In Your strength i will go

Your compassion

Your words i will live and breathe

Your truth in my heart, Your freedom

More of You is what i need

I dare to pray this prayer, grant me this:
